The Council of State Retail Associations (CSRA) has elected Erin Sigrist chairwoman of its Board of Directors for 2023. Sigrist is president of the Vermont Retail & Grocers Association and executive director of the Vermont Specialty Food Association.
Sigrist’s role will include leading the CSRA’s eight-person Board of Directors as the organization builds on its 18-year history of bringing state retail associations together to enhance the representation of the retail industry across the country, notes the organization.
“It’s an honor to lead this group of my peer organizations, and I look forward to building on CSRA’s history to make us an even more effective group as each state works on issues directly impacting communities across the country,” says Sigrist. “I grew up working in my family’s 140-year-old hardware store, so I know how important strong relationships are to success. CRSA has amazing state retail associations and partnering organizations that come together to share best practices and new ways of looking at challenges and opportunities. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the organization’s members, partners, staff and leaders in 2023.”
Sigrist’s one-year term as board Chair begins on January 1, 2023 and includes overseeing an annual conference, providing support for state retail associations, facilitating the exchange of information, and launching a new Women Retail Leaders program.
“Erin is a contemporary leader who runs an excellent state retail association, and who knows how to listen and make progress,” says Bruce Nustad, outgoing CSRA Board chair. “Erin is an outstanding pick as a leader among her peers across the country, and through her insights CSRA will not only continue its tradition of being a vital resource for state retail associations and key partners, but also look at the future of our industry in changing times. We are fortunate to have Erin’s expertise, her welcoming Vermont personality, and her love of retail in the leadership role.”
